Laser Resurfacing Q & A
How does laser resurfacing work?
As you age, collagen (a connective tissue) starts breaking down.
Collagen is what’s responsible for keeping your skin taut and supple. When you start losing collagen — which happens as early as your mid-20s — wrinkles and fine lines begin developing.
Naaman Clinic offers the most advanced type of skin resurfacing systems available. During treatments, the laser delivers concentrated light to the deeper layers of your skin. This process tricks your body into thinking that an injury is occurring, and as a result, a healing cascade begins, and new cells start regenerating.
Over the following days after your treatment, your body develops new skin tissues, including collagen, and your skin becomes visibly smoother and firmer. Our state-of-the-art technology is also known for improving skin discoloration that develops as you age.
What can laser resurfacing treat?
Aside from reversing the signs of aging by minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and smoothing out your skin tone, this treatment can also be beneficial for:
- Reducing pore size
- Removing damaged skin layers
- Improving scars (burns, acne, or surgical scars)
Because this laser technology is beneficial for several skin ailments, it’s known for restoring the youthful skin you once had.
Will I need more than one laser resurfacing session?
Possibly, but you’re going to have dramatic results starting shortly after your first session. During your initial evaluation, your practitioner lets you know what you should expect from your treatment plan and if you might need another session.
Most laser resurfacing clients have noticeable results for as long as 7-10 years. Of course, as you age, you can always schedule additional treatments.
Is laser resurfacing painful?
Not at all. What’s particularly beneficial about our system is that its energy penetrates deeper than other similar types of lasers on the market. However, it does so at the lowest possible energy level, which reduces your discomfort, healing time, and your risk of burns or skin damage.
